Pueblo Judicial Complex

Southern Colorado

  • Project Type: New Construction

  • Division: Commercial

  • Service: Compaction Grouting

While placing driven piles during initial construction phases of the new Judicial Complex in downtown Pueblo, Colorado, the construction team observed that sinkholes and voids were developing at some of the pile locations in the native silty sands and gravel layers.

To mitigate the sinkholes and develop bearing strength and lateral resistance, Straight Line compaction grouted along the length of two opposite sides of the affected piles. Cutoff criteria for this project was an achieved pressure of 200psi at all grouting depths.

Unexpected developments on large construction projects require specialty services, such as compaction grouting experts to rapidly assess, mobilize, repair, and keep the project on track.
