To stabilize the existing structure during expansion of the clinic’s facilities, helical piers were installed to underpin the structure in order to excavate and construct a tieback and shotcrete retaining wall. Underpinning piers and tiebacks were 2-7/8” diameter steel with 10” helix. Shotcrete was 6” thick and reinforced with 6×6” WWM.
